Features of using the drug "Vinilin" for stomatitis

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Pharmacodynamics

Polivinox improves tissue restoration and healing, providing an additional anti-inflammatory effect. It also demonstrates local antimicrobial and enveloping effects.

Pharmacokinetics

The antiseptic effect is caused by the ability of the drug to dehydrate microbial cells, coagulating protein and thereby provoking the death of microbes. As a consequence, restoration occurs by replacing the area of necrosis with connective or specific tissue.

When used externally, it promotes epithelization, wound cleansing, and tissue regeneration.

Advantages of the drug "Vinilin" for the treatment of stomatitis

Vinilin (also known as Shostakovich's Balm) is an effective remedy that has an antiseptic, antimicrobial and restorative effect. Its active ingredient is polyvinox.

Vinylin in the treatment of stomatitis performs the following tasks:

  • disinfects the oral mucosa;
  • accelerates the restoration of damaged tissues and speeds up healing;
  • relieves pain;
  • prevents the possibility of a new infection entering the damaged mucosa.

Vinilin tends to envelop the oral mucosa with a special protective film; the same situation occurs in the stomach. This way you can prevent the occurrence of allergic complications due to stomatitis.

When using the drug in combination with other drugs, the effect of treatment can be greatly increased. But only a doctor should prescribe any medications, after tests have been taken and an accurate diagnosis has been made.

For example, in the case of mild stomatitis, it is enough to use Vinilin and rinse the mouth with a decoction of herbs. In case of complex disease, the dentist may add antibacterial agents.

The drug Vinilin is available in several forms:

  • solution;
  • pills;

Ointment "Vinilin": description, composition

The drug "Vinilin" is often called Shostakovsky's balm. Available in the form of an ointment. The main component is polyvinyl butyl ether (synonym: polyvinox). Physically it is a thick solution with a specific aroma. Available in bottles of 50 or 100 g.

The product has an antibacterial effect, inhibits inflammatory processes, stimulates tissue restoration and wound healing, and gives an enveloping effect.

Dehydrates bacterial cells, destroys their proteins, which leads to the death of pathogenic microorganisms. As a result, the affected cells in the body are restored faster due to the appearance of connective tissue.

Store Shostakovsky balm in normal room conditions, in the absence of sunlight. Should be kept away from children. The shelf life is 5 years from the date of production - after this time the medicine cannot be used.

Diagnosis of ulcerative colitis

The diagnosis of this disease is easy to make - the presence of blood in the stool and mucus, frequent urge to go to the toilet "in a big way", pain in the abdomen - these are its main symptoms. The diagnosis is confirmed only after fibroileocolonoscopy (the ileum is examined) and histological analysis of biopsy specimens. A clinical blood test for UC shows the presence of inflammation and anemia. A new marker is also used - fecal calprotectin, which increases in the presence of UC (100-150).

Often the diagnosis can be made incorrectly - this disease is similar in symptoms to intestinal infections, protozoal and helminthic infestations, Crohn's disease, colon cancer, therefore, before making a final diagnosis, the attending physician must conduct a wide range of studies.

Treatment

During periods of moderate to mild exacerbation, outpatient treatment is indicated for patients. It includes a diet (No. 4-a in medical terminology), when reducing the inflammatory process, diet No. 4-b is recommended, and during remission - No. 4c, and finally - a simple diet. If the exacerbation is too severe, the patient may be “fed” through a vein.

The main medications prescribed for colitis

– these are drugs of the 5-aminosalicylic acid group (mesalazine and sulfasalazine). They provide an anti-inflammatory effect and heal the inflamed mucous membrane of the colon. But, it should be remembered that sulfasalazine has more side effects than mesalazine.

Hormonal drugs

prescribed if the previous treatment option was ineffective.

Biological drugs

such as Remicade and Humira, the doctor prescribes for hormone-resistant forms of colitis.

Contraindications

Vinilin is not prescribed for the following diseases and conditions:

  • Diseases of the liver, kidneys, gall bladder;
  • Pregnancy;
  • Individual intolerance;
  • Lactation period;
  • Children's age (for oral administration).

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is possible to use the balm externally under the supervision of a physician.

Side effects

Vinylin is well tolerated by patients. When using the balm for children, do not exceed the dosage. Children's skin is delicate and sensitive, it can respond with an allergic reaction.

Possible side effects:

  • Dryness, flaking of the skin;
  • Feeling of tightness;
  • Itching;
  • Redness;
  • Disturbance of stool when taken orally.

If negative symptoms appear, you should stop using the balm and consult your doctor.

When used together, Vinilin and antacids can enhance the therapeutic effect of each other. If the balm and antibiotics are used together, the action of the latter may be hindered. Vinilin envelops the mucous membranes of the digestive system and prevents the absorption of drugs. It is necessary to time limit the intake of these medications.

Vinyl for burns

The balm is often used at home to treat household burns.

Thermal (boiling water, oil, etc.)

In case of a household burn in the kitchen, for example, timely use of Vinilin prevents the formation of bubbles. The drug should be applied immediately after burning to the damaged surface in the form of a thick layer. The pain will subside in no more than 10 minutes, after which, if necessary, bandage the affected area and apply a bandage soaked in balm.

Sunny

You can also treat sunburn with Vinilin. To do this, just rub the drug onto the area of excessive tanning. Before use, add a bottle of balm to heated water to make the product more liquid. Repeat procedures until the skin heals.
